Yude Fu (Olaf)

I am a Master’s student in Building Performance Diagnostics at Carnegie Mellon University (2025–2027), with a BEng in Architectural Environment Engineering from the University of Nottingham (First Class Honours).

My work focuses on building energy simulation, HVAC system design, fault detection, and low-carbon retrofit strategies. I have project experience across the US, UK, and China.

Research

My thesis research investigates passive cooling solutions to enhance solar panel efficiency. A related paper has been published in the International Journal of Thermophysics: doi.org/10.1007/s10765-025-03649-8

I also contributed to a demand-side HVAC system model for industrial buildings using Modelica, published in Applied Energy: doi.org/10.1016/j.apenergy.2024.124971
